VIITE Welcomes the Chairman of Don Sherman Institute
VIITE was proud to welcome Chef Don Sherman, Founder and Chairman of the Don Sherman Institute (DSI), to our Melbourne campus — a visit that marked another meaningful step forward in our growing Transnational Education (TNE) partnership.
Chef Sherman's visit gave him a firsthand look at where VIITE's Commercial Cookery and Hospitality Management students bring their skills to life. He was taken on a tour of the campus, spending time in our fully equipped commercial kitchens and training facilities, where he saw the practical, industry-led approach that underpins every VIITE qualification. It was an opportunity for him to experience, up close, the same standard of Australian vocational training that DSI now delivers to students in Sri Lanka under their agreement.
Formal Exchange of the Memorandum of Agreement
Beyond the tour, the visit carried real significance: it marked the formal exchange of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between VIITE and Don Sherman Institute. This document, first signed by VIITE CEO Dr Daman Shrivastav and Chef Sherman, laid the foundation for delivering Australian Commercial Cookery and Hospitality Management qualifications in Sri Lanka. Exchanging it in person at the Melbourne campus added a personal, tangible dimension to a partnership that has already opened doors for aspiring hospitality professionals overseas.
