Our Story

Victorian International Institute of Technical Education was founded to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practice. We work shoulder-to-shoulder with employers across hospitality, care, trades and business to build training that delivers real outcomes for real careers.

Today, VIITE supports over a thousand students from more than 50 countries across our Melbourne, Sydney and Gold Coast campuses.

Sameer Sahai Mathur

CGRM Professional | Auditor | Researcher

With over 26 years of experience spanning corporate leadership, governance, risk management, regulatory compliance and auditing, Sameer Sahai Mathur is committed to advancing educational quality through evidence-informed governance, applied research and continuous improvement. His experience includes international research undertaken for the Department of Education, examining governance and outcomes-focused vocational education and training practices across multiple countries, complemented by extensive professional experience within the Australian VET sector. Currently undertaking a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), Sameer's research interests centre on industry engagement, organisational systems, educational quality and evidence-informed improvement. As a member of VIITE's Academic Governance Board, he brings a strong CGRM, research and assurance perspective, contributing to rigorous academic oversight, regulatory integrity, institutional quality and the continuous enhancement of educational outcomes.

Currently focused on training and assessment in commercial cookery, with a strong foundation in food safety, HACCP, and industry best practices.

For the past five years in the VET sector, I've loved helping students build their skills and confidence in the trade.

With over 20 years experience in frontline child protection and the disability sector, along with qualifications in a Bachelor of Social Science (majoring in human services), Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment, and Certificate III in Education (Integration). I am also a trainer in Specialist Forensic Child Interviewing, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training, along with running my Well-Being Consultancy and working within child protection and disability roles. My family is very important to me, and I enjoy being outdoors, cooking and travelling, and have been lucky enough to travel to many places around the world.

Chairman of Judges (NSW, ACT & Regions) and National Culinary Committee Member for the Australian Culinary Federation.
