Melbourne, Australia – 16 June 2026
VIITE is proud to announce the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Seafood Consumers Association (SCA), marking a significant milestone in strengthening industry education, consumer advocacy, food safety, and supply chain transparency across Australia’s hospitality sector.
This partnership brings together VIITE’s leadership in vocational education and training with SCA’s expertise in seafood integrity, consumer protection, and marketplace transparency. Together, the organizations will work to equip future hospitality professionals with the knowledge and skills required to navigate an increasingly complex food and regulatory environment.
The collaboration will explore the integration of seafood traceability, food provenance, accurate labelling, and consumer-first principles into VIITE’s commercial cookery, hospitality management, and professional development programs. Students will gain valuable exposure to emerging industry standards and best practices designed to improve transparency, accountability, and consumer confidence throughout the food supply chain.
Dr. Daman Shrivastav, CEO of VIITE, welcomed the partnership:
“At VIITE, our mission is to prepare students with the practical skills, industry knowledge, and global perspectives needed to succeed in today’s hospitality sector. Partnering with the Seafood Consumers Association enables us to further strengthen our curriculum by incorporating critical concepts around food integrity, transparency, and consumer trust. Together, we are developing future industry leaders who understand the importance of ethical and responsible food practices.”
Roy Palmer, CEO of the Seafood Consumers Association, said:
“We are delighted to partner with VIITE and contribute to the education of the next generation of hospitality professionals. By embedding consumer-focused principles and seafood integrity frameworks into training programs, we can help ensure that transparency, accurate labelling, and informed consumer choice become standard practice across the industry.”
The partnership will also investigate the development of specialised short courses, micro-credentials, and professional development opportunities focused on seafood integrity, food compliance, and emerging regulatory requirements. Additional initiatives may include innovative communication tools designed to improve consumer understanding of food provenance and nutrition across culturally diverse communities.
As regulatory expectations continue to evolve, the VIITE–SCA partnership demonstrates a shared commitment to building a more transparent, accountable, and consumer-focused hospitality industry.
