Course Overview
This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in the carpentry trade, developing specialized skills to carry out skilled carpentry tasks in both residential and commercial settings. Individuals in these roles perform moderately complex carpentry work, operate independently or as part of a construction team, and may even supervise others in delivering projects. This course equips students with the practical skills needed to work in various construction environments, from new builds to renovations and restorations.
Students will learn fundamental and advanced carpentry skills, studying topics that cover the latest industry standards and building techniques in Australia. The course includes immersive, hands-on practical training, focusing on precise measurements, construction of frameworks, interpreting plans, and understanding Australian building codes. Students will also develop essential problem-solving skills, and gain experience in research, consultation, and teamwork, preparing them for dynamic roles within the construction industry.
